Omaha Corporate Holiday Party Entertainment That Won't Bore Your Employees

Omaha Corporate Holiday Party Entertainment That Won't Bore Your Employees

Planning an Omaha company Christmas or holiday party? Discover how interactive comedy, mentalism, and live entertainment can turn the annual party into an event employees actually enjoy.

How to Keep Your Omaha Company Holiday Party From Becoming a Mandatory Meeting With Cookies

It's coming.

The annual company holiday party.

The one night each year when accounting, sales, management, and the guy whose name you've forgotten despite working eight feet away from him are expected to gather in one room and have fun on command.

Nothing could possibly go wrong.

You found the venue.

You ordered the food.

Someone has already asked whether there's an open bar.

And eventually somebody on the planning committee asks the dangerous question:

"So...what are we actually going to DO?"

Welcome to corporate holiday party planning.

Food Is Not Entertainment

I love a good meal.

But dinner is not a program.

Dessert is not a program.

And giving everyone two drink tickets and hoping Brenda from HR becomes interesting is definitely not a program.

A great company holiday party needs a moment when everybody stops being separate departments, job titles, and email signatures and becomes one audience having the same experience together.

That's what good live entertainment does.

And it's one reason I believe the shortest distance between two people is laughter.

Get a room laughing together and something interesting happens.

People loosen up.

Departments mingle.

The CEO temporarily becomes a human being.

People who barely speak to one another at work suddenly have something to talk about.

And Monday morning somebody is saying:

"How in the world did he KNOW that?"

That's a successful party.

The Real Enemy of a Corporate Christmas Party Is Awkwardness

Most event planners aren't actually afraid the chicken will be slightly dry.

They're afraid the party will be...

  • People sitting only with their department.

  • Everyone checking their phones.

  • A DJ playing to an empty dance floor.

  • A long awards presentation.

  • Twenty minutes of microphone feedback.

Then someone announces:

"Okay everybody! Let's have FUN!"

Nothing kills fun faster than officially announcing that fun is now required.

That's why my corporate holiday shows are interactive.

I blend mentalism, comedy, magic, audience participation, storytelling, and various highly questionable attempts at comedy into a show built around the people sitting in the room.

Nobody needs to know anything about magic.

Nobody needs to volunteer against their will.

And nobody has to sit through a motivational lecture disguised as a Christmas party.

They get to watch something happen.

I've always believed:

People listen best while watching.

Your Employees Don't Need Another PowerPoint

There is absolutely a place for keynote speaking, training, and professional development.

I do those too.

But your holiday party probably isn't the moment to unveil:

"Our Seven Strategic Pillars for Q1 Operational Excellence."

Not unless the eighth pillar is escaping through the emergency exit.

A holiday party should feel like a reward.

It should reconnect people.

It should create stories.

It should make people laugh.

It should remind everyone that the people they work beside all year are, occasionally, surprisingly entertaining.

That's where an interactive show can do something a playlist or slideshow can't.

It creates a shared experience.

Can This Work for a BIG Company Party?

Absolutely.

One of my corporate Christmas party clients brought me in to entertain approximately 450 guests.

That's one of my favorite things about this kind of entertainment.

A mentalism and comedy show can create intimacy even inside a large ballroom because the audience isn't merely watching a performer.

They're part of what happens.

Thoughts get predicted.

Choices become part of the show.

People laugh at each other.

People laugh at me.

Frequently with good reason.

And suddenly several hundred people are sharing one experience instead of having 37 unrelated conversations near a buffet.

My website also features feedback from an office holiday party client who said the audience laughed throughout the performance and praised how easy the entire booking experience was.

That's important because you're not merely hiring entertainment.

You're hiring one more part of an event you don't want to worry about.

What Should You Look for in Omaha Holiday Party Entertainment?

Whether you hire me or someone else, here are five questions I'd ask.

1. Can They Entertain Your Entire Demographic?

Corporate audiences can include people in their 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, and beyond.

You need something that doesn't require everyone to have watched the same TikTok that morning.

2. Is the Entertainment Clean Enough for a Company Event?

There's funny.

Then there's the kind of funny that results in an emergency Monday morning HR meeting.

I recommend the first kind.

3. Is It Interactive Without Humiliating People?

Audience participation should make people feel like stars of the show, not hostages.

Huge difference.

4. Can the Performer Handle a Real Corporate Room?

A restaurant back room with 35 people is different from a ballroom filled with hundreds of employees.

Ask about experience.

5. Will People Actually Remember It?

Nobody leaves saying:

"That centerpiece changed my life."

But they'll remember laughing with coworkers.

They'll remember the impossible prediction.

They'll remember their boss becoming part of the show.

And they'll talk about those moments afterward.

Holiday Party, Awards Banquet, Year-End Meeting, or January Kickoff?

This is also where my two worlds overlap.

I'm both a professional speaker and an interactive corporate entertainer.

So some organizations want pure entertainment for a Christmas party.

Others want an interactive keynote for a conference, awards banquet, year-end meeting, sales meeting, or January kickoff.

And some want a little of both.

That's the sweet spot.

Laugh. Watch. Participate. Remember something.

Not:

Sit. Stare. Check email. Wonder if anybody will notice you're gone.

Omaha Holiday Dates Fill Up Fast

If you're planning a company Christmas party or corporate holiday event in Omaha, Lincoln, or elsewhere in Nebraska, this is a good time to start figuring out entertainment.

Especially if you're trying to coordinate a specific Friday or Saturday night.

Because eventually every company in town discovers December at approximately the same time.

So if you'd like your employees grinning wider than when they find out their in-laws aren't coming for the holidays, I'd love to hear what you're planning.

Whether you need a comedy mentalism show, interactive corporate entertainment, or a keynote experience for your organization, tell me:

  • Your date

  • Your location

  • Your approximate audience size

  • What you want people to feel when the event is over

I'll help you figure out the rest.

Because your company holiday party shouldn't feel like another meeting.

It should be amazing.
