Deconstructing Our Habits!
What are your habits?
Part of my job is to dissect systems and habits to demonstrate why certain things work better than others. To this end I was able to dive into the book Atomic Habits by James Clear (recommended) and bring parts of it to life for superintendents from all over Nebraska.

One of the best parts about being a speaker with a background in magic is that I get to demonstrate concepts visually! That is-I don’t just get up and talk-I GET UP AND SHOW! With demonstrations on habit loops, habit stacking, and practice over time-I was able to get real-world-usable information to the audience in a memorable manner!
Finding balance-figuratively and literally is what this presentation is about. My theory has always been that people listen best while watching! The journey to learn how to balance a golf ball on a golf tee on my nose is an example of how habits (practicing a few minutes everyday) over time leads to results!

Atomic Habits is a fantastic book that will have you re-examining your routines. A few chapters in and you will be recognizing opportunities to engage in habit stacking, habit loops, and realizing how goals aren’t as important as systems.
In short-this book is AMAZING!
